Gabrielle Paddingtons were the first official soft toy of everyones favourite Peruvian bear, first made in 1972 by Shirley Clarkson in England. Now a very collectable vintage teddy, they stand up well to the test of time compared to a lot of bears their age! Most often we see Paddington Bears in need of a new outfit, as their felt hat and coat can be the first things to deteriorate.
The teddy tailors at the Leith Toy Hospital have helped many of these classic teddies regain a fresh look with a snazzy new hat and coat. The original teddies came with a variety of colour combinations for the outfit, and we can create them in whichever colours you prefer. The traditional options are different combinations of red, yellow and blue – but the choices are only limited by your imagination and we can make them in any colour you’d like!
